Terms of Use for Feedbye

Effective: October 14, 2026

The essentials

This summary is meant to help you find your way. The binding rules are in sections 1 to 21.

  • Feedbye opens the official websites of Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Threads, X and Facebook with calmer rules. We are not affiliated with these services.
  • The websites can change at any time. Then not every rule may work right away. We do not promise a specific result.
  • The app is not a medical service.
  • Without a subscription you can block the original apps with Screen Time and use habits. The calm social media spaces come with Pro. With the yearly plan, Apple may offer you a free trial (currently 3 days).
  • Pro is a subscription sold by Apple. Under Apple's terms it renews automatically until you cancel it in your iPhone settings.
  • The networks' own rules continue to apply.

1. Provider and scope

(1) These Terms of Use apply to the iPhone app Feedbye (the "app") and the associated account. The provider and your contracting party is:

Bohdan Bernatek, Am Kaiserblick 28, 83098 Brannenburg, Germany
VAT ID: DE348695689
Email: support@feedbye.app, phone: +49 (0) 170 630 0387
("we", "us"; in these Terms this always means Bohdan Bernatek as the provider)

(2) You download the app from Apple's App Store. The licence to the app is governed by Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement ("Apple EULA"): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/. These Terms additionally govern the use of the app, its features and the optional account.

(3) Any differing terms of yours apply only if we expressly agree to them.

2. What the app does

(1) The app helps you use social networks more intentionally. It opens the official websites of Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Threads, X and Facebook in a built-in browser and applies rules. Currently these include in particular:

a) Certain areas do not open, for example the Reels feed and the Explore grid on Instagram (single Reels someone sends you still open), the Shorts feed on YouTube (YouTube starts on your Subscriptions) and LIVE on TikTok.
b) A daily feed limit, by default 10 posts or videos. After that the feed loads no more posts; stories, messages and profiles stay available. After a short breathing pause you can unlock a limited amount more.
c) For each network you set focus rules and a daily limit.
d) Optionally, you can block the original apps with Apple's Screen Time and briefly unlock them in Post Mode (section 8).
e) Habits with a daily check-in, a clarity score, a mascot, a streak and a home-screen widget.

The app shows you the details and current values.

(2) The app does not change the content of the websites. It decides, based on the address being opened, whether a page opens, and it counts visible feed posts. It does not block the websites' ads or sponsored posts.

(3) The app is not an official app of Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Threads, X or Facebook. We are not affiliated with, endorsed, sponsored or commissioned by Meta Platforms, Google/YouTube, TikTok/ByteDance or X Corp. Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Threads, X and Facebook are trademarks of their respective owners. We use the names only to describe which websites you can open in the app.

(4) To use the app you need an iPhone with iOS 17 or later, an internet connection and, where the website requires it, your own account with the network.

3. Who may use the app

(1) You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 16, you need the consent of your parents or legal guardians.

(2) For each network you must meet its own age limits and terms.

(3) Minors buy Pro through Apple. Their purchases are subject to the law and to the settings in Apple's Family Sharing, such as Ask to Buy, which lets parents approve a purchase first.

4. Rights in the app and in content

(1) The licence to the app is governed by the Apple EULA (section 1(2)).

(2) All rights in the app, such as its code, design, texts, illustrations and mascot, belong to us or our licensors.

(3) The content on the websites belongs to its creators or the operators. We claim no rights in it.

5. The networks' websites and your account there

(1) You sign in directly on the official website of each network. Your contract there is with the network's operator; its terms, policies and privacy notices apply. We are not a party to that contract.

(2) You are responsible for making sure your use of the networks complies with their terms.

(3) An honest note: the operators can change their websites, restrict features and restrict or suspend accounts at any time, including under their own rules on third-party software. We have no influence on this. We cannot rule out that an operator objects to its website being used through the app. We are not responsible for the operators' actions unless we are at fault.

(4) Each operator is responsible for the content, advertising and data processing on its website.

6. No guarantee of specific results

(1) The app's rules depend on how the websites are built. If an operator changes its website, individual features, such as blocking certain areas, counting or the limit, may temporarily not work or not work fully. We keep adapting the rules, among other things through a rules file the app downloads regularly, and through updates. Through the rules file we can also remove a network from the app temporarily or permanently, for example if an operator demands it or the rules no longer work reliably there (section 17(3)).

(2) We therefore do not owe a specific blocking effect, a specific change in your screen time, or the permanent availability of any particular website in the app. Your statutory rights for defects (section 13) remain unaffected.

(3) The app is a self-management tool. In the end, you decide how much you scroll.

7. Not a medical service

The app is not a medical device and not therapy. The clarity score, mascot and streak are playful motivational aids based on your own check-ins. They do not measure your health or well-being. References to studies in the app are general information, not a promise of any effect. If you are struggling with your mental health or feel you can no longer control your use, please reach out to a doctor or a counselling service.

8. Screen Time

(1) Blocking the original apps is optional. You grant permission in Apple's dialog and pick the apps in Apple's picker. Apple only gives the app encrypted references. We cannot see which apps you pick.

(2) When you open a blocked app, iOS shows a block screen with the option to open the network in Feedbye. In Post Mode you can unlock a blocked app for a short time shown in the app, a limited number of times per day, for example to post something. It then locks again automatically.

(3) Blocks stay in place until you remove them. Before deleting the app, tap "Unblock all apps" in Settings. Otherwise blocks may stay in place. If that happens, email us and we will help. We have no server through which we could remove blocks on your device.

(4) Screen Time is an Apple feature. Changes by Apple may affect this feature.

9. Free features and Pro subscription

(1) Free features. Without a subscription you can currently use in particular blocking the original apps via Screen Time, Post Mode, and habits and the mascot.

(2) Pro. With Pro you use the calm spaces for the supported services with focus rules, a daily limit (0 to 100 posts or no limit), lives, free days and Hardcore mode. The app shows you which features belong to Pro before you buy.

(2a) Family plan. The Pro family plan uses Apple's Family Sharing: all members of your Apple family (currently up to six people) get Pro while the subscription runs. Each member needs their own account in the app and must be at least 13. Members under 16 need the consent of their parents or legal guardians. You manage who belongs to your family with Apple.

(3) Purchase through Apple. Pro is a subscription you take out in the App Store. The seller is Apple (in the EU: Apple Distribution International Ltd.), which sells the subscription in its own name and is responsible for payment and invoicing. In Germany Pro currently costs €9.99 per month or €49.99 per year, and the family plan €14.99 per month or €99.99 per year, including VAT. The price Apple shows you before purchase is decisive; it may differ in other countries and currencies. We receive no payment data.

(4) Term, renewal, cancellation, refunds. The term, automatic renewal, cancellation, price changes, refunds and any right of withdrawal follow Apple's Media Services Terms (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/) and the information Apple shows you before purchase. Your statutory rights as a consumer remain unaffected.

(5) Practical notes. You can cancel at any time in your iPhone settings under "Apple Account › Subscriptions", or in the app via "Cancel subscription", which takes you to Apple's subscription management. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel a subscription. You request refunds from Apple at https://reportaproblem.apple.com.

(6) Free trial. With the yearly plan, Apple may offer you a free trial (currently 3 days). It is part of the subscription with Apple: unless you cancel beforehand in iPhone Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions, the paid subscription starts afterwards. Apple shows you whether you are eligible, the length and the price afterwards before you subscribe.

(7) Cancellation dialog. When you choose "Cancel subscription" in the app, you can give a reason. Depending on the reason, we offer you help or a free month; after that the subscription renews at the regular price unless you cancel it (section 10(5)). "Cancel anyway" is always visible and takes you straight to Apple's subscription management.

10. Codes, friend gift and creator codes (conditions of participation)

(1) Redeeming. You redeem codes via "Redeem code" in the app (Apple's redemption sheet) or through a redemption link from Apple. Apple checks whether you are eligible. Apple shows you the details of the offer, in particular the duration and the price afterwards, before you redeem. Those details are decisive.

(2) For all codes:

a) A code is valid only for the offer it belongs to, and only once per Apple ID per offer.
b) Codes have no cash value. They are not paid out and cannot be exchanged for money.
c) Codes may not be sold, auctioned or otherwise passed on for payment.
d) After a free or discounted period, the subscription renews automatically at the regular price unless you cancel in time (under Apple's terms currently at least 24 hours before the period ends).
e) We may end or change an offer for the future, for example in case of abuse. Offers already redeemed are not affected.
f) This is not a prize draw or contest.

(3) Friend gift. With "Give a friend a free month" you share, through the iOS share sheet, a link to a public Apple offer code.

a) Only new subscribers can redeem it, meaning Apple IDs that have never had a Feedbye Pro subscription, and only once per Apple ID.
b) Currently they get one month of Pro for free. After that the subscription renews automatically as a monthly subscription at the regular price (currently €9.99 per month in Germany) unless they cancel it before then.
c) The person sharing receives nothing in return. There is only this one level; there is nothing for referrals of referrals.
d) We do not read your contacts and do not send invitations ourselves. Please share the link only with people who are likely to want it, and not as mass messages or spam.

(4) Creator codes. Some creators receive their own code from us (an individual Apple offer code). Creator codes are for new subscribers only and once per Apple ID, unless Apple shows otherwise before redemption. For you, the details Apple shows before redemption and paragraph 2 apply. We pay creators a commission for subscriptions taken out with their code; their posts about the app are therefore advertising and must be labelled as such.

(5) Free month when cancelling. We may offer existing subscribers a free month in the cancellation dialog through an Apple offer code. It can be redeemed only once per Apple ID per offer. After that the subscription renews at your subscription's regular price unless you cancel it before then.

11. Your obligations

You agree

a) to use the app only in line with the law and the networks' terms,
b) not to use the app for automated access, bots or mass extraction of content (scraping),
c) not to circumvent security measures of the app, Apple or the websites,
d) not to manipulate or abuse codes or purchases,
e) to protect access to your email address and your Apple account, and to tell us about misuse of your account with us.

12. Account

(1) You need an account to use the app; you create it during setup. It moves your habits between devices. You can sign in with Apple or with a code sent by email.

(2) Use an email address you have access to.

(3) You can delete your account at any time in the app with "Delete account". Your account, your profile including check-ins and, if you signed in with Apple, the stored Apple token are then deleted immediately on our server; details are in the Privacy Policy. Pro is tied to your Apple ID, not to your account with us, so deleting the account does not cancel a subscription.

(4) We may suspend or delete an account for good cause, for example for serious breaches of these Terms. Where reasonable, we will warn you first. We take your legitimate interests into account.

13. Statutory warranty and updates

(1) The statutory warranty rights apply; for consumers in particular the rules on digital products (Sections 327 et seq. BGB, German Civil Code).

(2) We provide the updates needed to keep the app in conformity with the contract, including security updates, for the period required by law. If you do not install an update we have provided within a reasonable time, although we informed you about it and the consequences, we are not liable for defects resulting solely from that (Section 327f(2) BGB).

(3) Section 6 applies to changes made to the websites by their operators.

14. Liability

(1) We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the German Product Liability Act, and to the extent of any guarantee we have given.

(2) For slight negligence we are liable only if we breach an essential contractual obligation, meaning an obligation whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose fulfilment you may regularly rely. In that case our liability is limited to the damage typical for this kind of contract and foreseeable when the contract was concluded.

(3) Otherwise our liability is excluded.

(4) Paragraphs 1 to 3 also apply in favour of our employees, representatives and agents.

(5) Your statutory rights for defects in digital products (Sections 327 et seq. BGB) remain unaffected.

15. Changes to the app

(1) We keep developing the app and may change it in the process.

(2) For Pro: beyond what is needed to keep it in conformity with the contract, we change Pro only for a valid reason, for example to adapt to changes of the websites, Apple, iOS or the law, for security reasons or for new features. This costs you nothing extra, and we inform you clearly and understandably about the change.

(3) If such a change impairs your access to Pro or its usability more than only slightly, we will inform you in good time beforehand about the change, its timing and your rights, in the app and by email to the address of your account (a durable medium). You may then end the contract free of charge within 30 days of this information, or of the change if it happens later (Section 327r BGB). Amounts already paid for the time after that are refunded to you under the statutory rules; the refund is handled through Apple. Please get in touch with us if there are any problems.

16. Changes to these Terms

(1) We may change these Terms for the future, for example because of changes in the law, new features, or changes at Apple or the websites.

(2) A changed version applies to you only if you agree to it in the app. If you do not agree, the previous version continues to apply to you.

(3) In that case we may end the free features with reasonable notice (section 17(1)).

17. Term and termination

(1) Use of the free features runs for an indefinite period. You can end it at any time by deleting the app and, if you have one, your account. We may end it with reasonable notice of at least 30 days and will inform you in the app.

(2) The term and renewal of the Pro subscription follow section 9.

(3) We may discontinue the app or support for individual networks. We will inform you in the app beforehand, where possible at least 30 days in advance. The notice can only be shorter if legal or technical reasons require it, for example if an operator prohibits the use of its website through the app. For Pro, section 15(3) applies.

(4) Both sides' right to terminate for good cause remains unaffected.

18. Relationship with Apple

Apple is not a party to these Terms. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app, its content, support and maintenance. Please send questions and complaints about the app to us, and questions about payment and refunds to Apple.

19. Governing law and jurisdiction

(1) German law applies. If you are a consumer with your habitual residence in the EU, the EEA or Switzerland, the protection of the mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence remains unaffected. For consumers in Switzerland, the choice of law applies only to the extent permitted.

(2) If you are a merchant, a legal entity under public law or a special fund under public law, the exclusive place of jurisdiction is our place of business in Brannenburg, Germany. For consumers, the statutory places of jurisdiction apply.

20. Dispute resolution

We are neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.

21. Final provisions

(1) These Terms are available in German and English. Both versions have the same content.

(2) If a provision is invalid, the rest remain valid. The statutory provisions replace the invalid provision (Section 306 BGB).

(3) We answer questions about these Terms at support@feedbye.app. Our legal notice (Impressum) is in the app.
